Bantu Stephen Biko 1946 – 1977.
One of my earliest memories is, aged 3, sitting on the floor in my parents’ living room and hearing the very graphic radio report of the torture and murder of Steve Biko in South Africa. He was only 30 years old. This memory has stayed with me ever since, and I felt it was time to represent him in life as the intelligent, charismatic, brave man that he was.
